Leadership begins from within.
Ofuq is a leadership development framework created by Sari Al-Sabatin to help individuals and organizations move from self-awareness to responsible action and leadership.
Leadership is often taught from the outside in
Many leadership programs focus heavily on skills, techniques, models, presentations, and knowledge. Ofuq starts earlier, with the questions that actually shape how someone leads.
Where most training starts
Where Ofuq starts
- Who am I?
- How do I respond?
- How do I understand others?
- How do I communicate?
- How do I act responsibly?
- How do I lead?
The Ofuq Journey
Six stages, moving deliberately from the internal to the external: from understanding yourself to leading others. Each stage builds on the one before it.
Not generic leadership training
Ofuq is grounded in how the framework is actually delivered: reflective and experiential learning that moves toward practical application, not claims about being unique.
Starts with the individual, not the org chart.
Connects personal self-awareness directly to leadership behavior, rather than treating them as separate modules.
Built on experiential learning: practiced in the room, not only discussed.
Moves deliberately from reflection to action, treating leadership as a journey rather than an event.
Designed for practical application inside real teams and communities.
Adaptable to a specific organizational context rather than delivered as a fixed curriculum.
Can be embedded into an organization's existing leadership development pathway.
Can be extended through a Train-the-Trainer model, so internal facilitators can carry it forward.
I kept seeing the same gap
I kept seeing the same gap in leadership development: many programs begin by teaching people how to lead before giving them the opportunity to understand themselves.
For years, I designed and delivered leadership and capacity-building programs across Jordan and the wider region, at Liwan Youth Space and later through EvaluTrend. I watched participants go through strong training: good facilitators, solid content, real energy in the room. And then, months later, very little of it showed up in how people actually led.
The gap was not in the training itself. It was in the starting point. Most programs hand people tools before asking whether they understand themselves well enough to use them. Skills without self-awareness produce technique, not leadership.
Ofuq started as a working answer to that gap: begin with the person, not the position. Self-awareness before self-regulation. Self-regulation before social awareness. Understanding before communication. Communication before responsible action. And only then, leadership, not as a title someone is given, but as a capability that has actually been practiced.
I built Ofuq out of that sequence, and shaped it through real work in leadership development, youth development, program management, facilitation, and organizational development across the region. It remains, first and foremost, a practitioner's framework: built from delivery, not theory.
Shaped by real delivery, not theory
Who Ofuq is for
Ofuq was shaped through youth leadership work, and it is built for a wider range of people building leadership capability. Youth leadership is one important application, not the entire product.
How Ofuq can be used
Ofuq is not delivered only one way. The framework adapts to what an individual, team, or organization actually needs.
Ofuq Leadership Journey
A structured leadership development experience moving through all six stages.
Ofuq Workshops
Focused sessions built around a specific pillar, for teams that need a specific starting point.
Ofuq for Organizations
A leadership development intervention embedded directly into an organization's teams and existing programs.
Ofuq Train-the-Trainer
Build internal capacity by preparing facilitators inside your organization to deliver the Ofuq journey themselves.
Custom Ofuq Programs
The framework adapted to a specific sector, context, or organizational challenge.
Bring Ofuq to your organization
Organizations can work with Sari to integrate Ofuq into leadership development, talent development, learning and development, youth leadership initiatives, capacity building, and organizational development, either as a framework delivered and embedded into your team's practice, or through a Train-the-Trainer model where one facilitator cascades the journey to the rest of the team.
